OK let’s start with setting the record straight.
Manufactured stone wall cladding is also known as faux stone.
Faux is the term given to “false” or “look alike” when used to describe a product made to imitate an original material. (Think of faux fur coats…and you know what I mean) and just like the rise of faux fur to protect the killing of innocent animals, the nature doesn’t need to be destroyed to extract natural stone.
Sounds fair?
So what are the real advantages of choosing to use replicas stones on your next interior design project?
Firstly and most importantly – the manufactured stone looks just like the real thing. You don’t want an inferior pretend stone wall cladding that is nowhere near the real item.
The fake stone cladding is cast from moulds of the genuine stone products. The look, the feel and the shape and texture of natural stone being captured then re-created with a cement based product.
The cement manufactured stone veneer panels are easy to install on any wall type you want to. Plus they can be created any colour you desire in the stone veneer panels.
Plus, the stone veneer panels are only 20 to 25mm thick. The benefit for you is this lightweight man-made stone veneer is easy to pick up, easy to transport and even easier to install on a wall of your choice. (That’s right…it’s that easy to install you can do it yourself! If you can put a ceramic tile on a wall then you are qualified to put a fake stone panel on a wall).
If you decide to DIY your cladding stone project you will save a lot of money on labour costs. It goes without saying if you “pay” yourself to do the work the money then stays in your pocket. Money you can then use for other parts of you project…or money you can invest in yourself for holidays or clothes or interior furnishings…you get the picture?
Not only do you save money by going DIY but you can also earn the sense of self-satisfaction once you have completed the project. Knowing that you have not only taken on the role of interior designer but you have project managed and carried out the tradesperson skills to install the faux stone. But even more than the “hands on” side of the project, you get to live with the stunning end results of your labour. An amazing decorative wall system that will feature prominently for all to appreciate.
